there are 12 in new hire training. One group of 6 is just finishing with sim. There other is still in ground school.

Don't have the exact numbe but it would be thru the 6th class. simple math would be the
1) Still have 3 former furloughed NWA pilots 3 furloughed pilots
2) original 10 (who flew the crj) eligable to flow however 1 for sure has already left so lets say 9 pilots
3) new hires from the street classes 1-5.
- class 1: included 4 furloughed NWA pilots (1 was fired so only 3 remain see above) 5 pilots from this class
- class 2: 6 new hires of which 1 has left for a nice corporate gig. one has a nice furlough number from AA would go back once they call back with a 8 year longevity date and i believe he is staying at compass until AA calls him back. (hard to give up 8 plus years to start at year 1 at delta). 4 pilots from this class
- class 3: 6 new hires all still hear i believe 6 from this class
- class 4: 12 new hires all still hear and i believe all will go... however there are a few guys around 50 (QOL issues.. never know for sure) so 12 pilots from this class
- class 5: i am a little fuzzy on this class size i believe it was 12 but starting in feb. they are eligible as well.
MEM matt you might want to start looking into commuitability to the chicago area

Thanks a lot.
Some of the new guys that are furloughees were just trying to figure out whether or not sitting around waiting for flow was worth it. Some of them are Midwest guys with pref interviews at Airtran and Cont. some having experiance that would allow them to get hired anywhere.
The question stands: Do you stay knowing that if
1. hiring at delta starts (ie. flow)
2. furloughees on the list go back to their companies
3. some qualified guys just plain leave (ie. JetBlue)
Maybe faster upgrades are around the corner and waiting the 30 months may not be that bad. Maybe not... Peak retirment doesn't start for a little while, maybe waiting for the sure thing is the right thing to do after so many years of uncertainty.

Congrats on getting the call. I would suggest some of the interview gouge sites out there. If I may list them: AviationInterviews.com, WillFlyForFood, etc. The gouges there are spot on. Best of luck.
