I would take the class at Compass. Being at a smaller company with lots of movement (Compass) is better than being at a larger regional where you will most likely find more seniority stagnation. It all depends on what you want out of the job. If you want to hold a line asap and have a decent shot at the left seat in the next 2 years Compass is the way to go.

Several things to consider. First, the cockpit is very loud. You will want an ANR headset. Secondly, you will be wearing this headset for 6 to 9 hours a day. You will want a headset that is comfortable. So that being said, whatever brand you find the most comfortable in an ANR model is the headset you want.

I would recommend over the ear but that's just me, its not a quiet cockpit. Lots of guys wear 750's but with earplugs.

Can't be any louder than the 145, right? Do you guys wear them above 18,000? Or do some guys just use the speaker?

I'm fine with the 750s... Its not that loud granted it hasn't been long. Just finished IOE. Might change my mind.

I highly recommend the David Clark ProX. I've worn the Bose A20 and the Telex 850 in the E175. Bose is a great headset but a little robust to wear for 8 hours at a time (and very expensive). The Telex is much lighter but can hurt your ears and head after a few hours. Also, the noise canceling is weak and the speakers just plain suck. You will miss radio calls. I got the DC's just to try for a trip or two and now I can't recommend them highly enough.

Definitely not as loud as the 145 but not as quiet as the CRJ. I use 750s without ear plugs and think they're just fine. Usually take them off above 18k if the flights over 2 hours.
