However, for the time being, the hiring will stop at 42 instead of the originally-planned-upon 60+.
The exact quote "Compass management thinks it is going to need the capacity to train 20 a month later this year". Carry on. Is that 20 New Hires or 20 Flow Downs? |

Hi!
For the DAL/NWA furlough every week rumour folks: Yes the 20/month Compass trainees will all be DAL furloughs, starting tmo, and continuing for the next 20 years. cliff NBO |
I sure hope that one stays a rumor Cliff. I like the one that says its going to go the other way a lot better.

Compass did change their job requirements this time - multi-engine time went from 1000 hours to 500 hours and they now require a 4 year college degree. From what I know, Compass is the first and only regional (for now) that requires a 4 year college degree. I'm sure this has to do with Delta's flow and their recent meeting that the pilots on this thread were talking about.
There are pilots (I'm one of them) that did not get called for an interview and didn't get a "no, thank you" e-mail, but are still on their application system. Does anyone know if these pilots supposed to re-apply since the job requirements changed? Does Compass have a list of people to call for interviews? |
I would always say reapplying is better. I wish they would leave that 1000 Multi on there but I guess as long as things are swamped in the job market maybe we will get lucky and get the higher time guys anyway.
Also I am glad to see the 4 year degree for a lot of reasons. -More time to realize there is more to life than flying a jet -more education probably = smarter pilot (not always true though) -with the added debt of the degree could mean less willing to take low wages - along with many more Hopefully we will see many more regionals throw this on the mins. If they all required a 4 year ed. I would guess it would have to push the pay back up a little. Well good luck to all this go around. |
Hi!
I have been in the system a couple of years. I'm guessing I was not called because I turned down an interview opportunity in Fall, 2007, as it made no sense to go to Compass as an FO at the time. I was trying to get one of the early DEC spots, but I didn't have enough hours to be competitive...most DECs had 7-8000 hours +. 20-20 is Hindsight, you know? If you are interested, I would definitely update your app. cliff NBO |

I reapplied today, 4700tt, furloughed from NetJets, with two internal recs, can't seem to get a call. What is the trick to getting hired here? I do have a degree, as well. Who has been getting hired recently?
