Last question on MIL time upgrade questions. Anyone know if compass counts military RW time toward totals for upgrade? I'm military with ~1700 FW MEJ and ~ 1300 MIL RW time....500 121 SIC time would put me at 3500 TT with ~ 2200 FW. With my 500 multi crew MIL FW MEJ PIC time I would have the 1000 121time but I would only have 2200 FW TT...(3500 TT RW+FW) Thanks.

Thats a great question that unfortunately I dont know the answer to.

Great question, no idea though. Though, if hired today and in class sometime in March. You'd probably fly 800 hours by the time your number came up for upgrade.

We had a few RW guys from the army here that have since flowed to DL, I remember they both flew some FW(King AIr I believe) in the army too. I'm not sure how much FW time they had though. Granted that was all pre-rule change.

I though our CBA stated 2000 total with 1500 mel or 2500 with 1000 mel for upgrade minimums and the 1000 sic too.

It's actually a pouch. I picked mine up the other day. Not much of a case if you ask me. Careful with those iPads, I already heard of guy who cracked his screen

Pouch is definitely a better word to describe it. Very minimal protection.

Good call, completely forgot the CBA addresses this issue. I see the 2500TT/1000AMEL or 2000TT/1500AMEL, but not the 1000 SIC requirement. I guess one would have to combine the requirements of the CBA and FOM.

the emails always say "All pilots awarded a Captain position must prove that they meet the 1000 hours of SIC time per
the FARs and upgrade requirements outlined in Section 24 J of the CBA"

So I guess it would be wise to spend $90 on an otterbox or something to protect my $600 investment. Anyone know any details on aircraft mount instalation?

I don't think its fair to call this an investment on your part. The company is requiring us to switch to iPads. We don't have a choice in the matter. Its their iPad, if they want them to stay in good shape, they need to provide the equipment to do so, not the pilots. Don't spend any of your own money on this charade.

From a certain standpoint you are correct, the company should spring for a case. But they aren't going to. They will, however certainly expect you to pay for a broken ipad. $600 is the better part of a months take home pay for a first year F/O, and an off brand plastic case can be bought on Amazon for about $20. That is pretty cheap insurance to prevent a very nasty sting.
