But not a car accident.

If that's the only protection they say they will give you, just ask yourself, what would happen if they denied my claim that it broke during normal 'use'. You have no LOA protecting you from anything.

But at least I have the 4 Hour min day provision going for me. What are your thoughts on that?

The company has been supplying nice Jepp binders where you can tear and spill on those pages and not have to worry about a thing. If you have to replace them, you have the option of this thing called the internet and a crew room printer. Of course free replacement and $700 is the same thing for a first year FO.

In the "real world", you bought a flight kit to protect those company owned "nice Jepp binders" from everyday stuff, and you were always on the hook for the value of those Jepp binders. You likely spent quite a bit of money on that case. Where was your backbone then? Why weren't you beating down the doors of building C demanding a company provided flight case? No, you swiped your card, and bought a case for somewhere between $150 and $300 to protect $200 worth of company owned Jepp charts and binders and never looked back. Now the company has issued you a $600 Ipad and you balk at the idea of voluntarily spending $20 to protect it, and devolve into childish name calling of your fellow pilots.
Just so we are clear, I think we all want and need an LOA on this for both privacy issues and damage. I think the company would be wise provide a protective otterbox style case. Until then, for the price of a couple beers in Canada, I have the option take adequate care of the property the company issued to me, in the same way you and I have both taken care of the Jepp charts issued to us, and protect myself from a $600 bill in the process.

You forgot to drop the mic...

Don't waste your money on a non company approved case.

Make a good faith effort not to break it and I'd say you'll be covered under CBA 26.d. Since it's our duty to charge it and update it and you were doing that... Not playing catch... When it broke. What's the problem?

I'm all for a LOA with stronger language.

Speaking of which, have we been told when the change is going to be made? I assume it's ADTG until August, correct?

Your immature attitude suits you.

I bought a used flight case to carry those binders, not protect them. If they break, I print new ones for free. Buying a flight case is entirely up to the pilot. Expensive or cheap. I have seen pilots use their carry-on and other bags to carry them. Bags that can be used for other things. Your insurance is a free company printer in the crewroom to replace your charts.

Break your Ipad, your personal bought case will do nothing to insure you against a $600 claim if the company decides to charge you. Good luck printing a new Ipad on the company crew room printers.

I would go by the bid packet. If you see it reflected that means we are probably switched over. I would put my money on July or August since the 4 hours for a calendar day with no duty, will cost more for the company overall, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them drag their feet in 'reprogramming' the PBS software.

This thread used to be much better. Lately it's turned into a *****-fest.
404,
You have a lot of good comments. If people don't want to listen, that's their prerogative.
Everybody else,
Leave him alone. You are poking the beast!
I'm sick of reading the 5 of you arguing back and forth. Y'all are turning people off to compass airlines.
