Judging from the class sizes I bet it'll happen soon.

Like the part where it you have a 24hr layover on a holiday all you get is the min day 4hr pay, you don't get an additional 4hrs for it being a holiday. The only way to get it is to actually fly that day

I don't think it's true. I just had a long layover over Thanksgiving and got both. The language in the CBA is confusing. It looks like if you have a schedule over the holiday you get the extra 4 hours regardless of what you do. At least my Flica schedule shows both. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope I'm wrong, I'm only going off what a CP told a few of us.

The new chief pilots are brand new to this company, too.

Hopefully being on-call for reserve counts even if they don't use you.

You get 4 hours of pay for doing anything over a holiday; whether it's sitting reserve at home, airport reserve, working that day or sitting in FAI. That part is actually written well.

The contract says performing flight duty or reserve duty on the holiday. I thought the reserve that counted as reserve duty in this case was ready reserve and since a 30 hour layover doesn't include flight duty, you don't get it in that case either. I've only heard from pilots with 30 hour layovers and regular reserve duty did not get the holiday pay.

Here is the language from the contract...
Holiday Pay
A Pilot who is assigned to and performs Flight duty or Reserve duty on New Year’s Day, Easter Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day shall receive four (4) hours of pay in addition to any other Pay Time, including any guarantee pay (e.g., monthly line guarantee, BSTG).
