I mean I still want an explanation of what planning went into the hiring freeze because it seems like everyone knew it was stupid except the company, and now we pilots took a huge qol hit with red days and lose of vacation, and also the company is bleeding money. This puts the company in a pretty bad spot to compete with Skywest and Envoy when the contract bid reopens.
But TSH and more specifically Adam Timperly wanted to reduce the over staffed situation in the spring. In fact they even wanted to have Compass furlough but Compass management refused to do so and as a result AT decided to cancel all new hire classes in the spring. Against the advice of Compass management.

New guys take note... This is perfectly legal per the contract and 117. When I start a 4 am rap, I am rested for that... A 4 am rap. They can put me in rest at 6 am if they want but there is no way I'm going to be able to rest adequately for an evening report.
I have and WILL call fatigued for everyone of these trips they try to give me.

Good, I urge everyone who gets these types of assignments to call fatigued. Respect your circadian, don't stretch yourself with extra coffee etc. Don't encourage these unsafe assignments by flying these when you are tired. You have no other contractual or 117 recourse.
Watch your connection times too, I've been seeing more and more connection times that are 15 minutes, and in cases where one is marginally legal for 117. Not sure what that's about, maybe they expect you to accept an extension once you are at an outstation.

Oh heck yeah... I got no problem calling fatigued at an outstation. I'm a commuter... So a night in my van or a free hotel room in mci with wifi? Won't slow me down.

The answer is pretty simple. The Company did know it was a bad idea, this was made apparent week after week in staffing meetings.

Its not a game to me, it's really unsafe and out of the question for someone to accept an assignment like that. Were not talking sick calls for a job fair here... I also think the junior manning is getting out of hand these days too. I would ask scheduling if they have exhausted all junior available pilots first, and let the union follow up if you suspect a JM out of order.
