One should never assume. In fact, you can seek approval for outside commercial flying, and pure 91 flying is approved. Part 91 legs for a certificate holder, will require you to report the time for legalities and never be unavailable, if approved (pending staffing).

Good info, thanks. Everything I would ask for would be pure 91, no certificate holders involved. Thanks for the response.

When *exactly* does each of our contracts expire? Assuming no renewals
For business reasons, I doubt it actually would expire on some date certain. Most likely it's an option, and after the option date Amerucan would be able to pull them back at a rate of perhaps a two or three a month. Nobody right now has a couple hundred E175 drivers sitting around unemployed and nobody wants a half billion or so worth of aircraft sitting out in the desert or even on a ramp being nonproductive.

Assuming AA actually does want to bring in all the flying to WOs, I'd expect it would take at least 6 months to accomplish. And no, I don't think those 200 E175 drivers would be furloughed either. Not when it's taking signing and retention bonuses, most regionals are hiring street captains, and some are forcing their FOs to upgrade.

Whatever happens with the contracts, the current environment for pilots is the best in decades, maybe the best ever. Doom & gloom really does NOT appear warranted.

For the record the TSA planes that they were flying for AA were old, unreliable POS with horrible performance and a lot of them in that thread are happy to see them leaving (which will still be over a year from now).

Doesn't matter. At all.

I just want to know, if we lose the contracts, can we keep the yoke clips? for posterity's sake? One of my all-time favorites, "MW shot Harambe" 😂😂

My favorite goes along the lines of "MW hang glides 1 mile W of LAX" or whatever the ATIS says. Just imagining him with an evil grin strapping into a hang glider under the departure end of LAX trying to screw everyone's day up so much that LAX tower has to warn everyone though an ATIS just gets to me.

Guaranteed that guys will be taking every bit of memorabilia they can get their hands on, if CP looses its flying.

Just imagine how awful performance would be following such an announcement.
