After a quick IG pilot search I can tell you there are far more other airline pilots outside of CPZ posting IG photos (look at all those gopro selfies on final). You are right, it only takes one moron to give us a name. Still I don't think it was necessary to call the guy out on here.

To the kid motivation thing... obviously there are other ways. But I can tell you that kids (mine included) are huge into all this social media stuff. For them to get a glimpse into someones life whether it be a pilot or a musician or whatever. It does play a big part into whatever it is that motivates kids theses days. Anyways, yes. Use common sense.

Classes are slowing down. 6-8 per class weekly from here on out. Upgrades also slowing down. We have caught up finally and now are hiring for attrition plus a couple extra for cushion. About 12-15 upgrades per month is the current plan. That is if things stay the way they are now. I think once guys start leaving for the majors this fall it will pick up again. United has picked up a bunch of Compass guys waiting to start class in the fall and winter.

Where is this info coming from? I heard straight from the training department as of now the plan is 6, no more than 8 per month until the end of the year.

Well the most recent vacancy has 12 upgrades.

Maybe the person who told you misread the slide that the Manager of Instructor Standards showed in the instructor meeting. The numbers are fluid and will change as the weeks go by. It's crew planning's numbers as of last week.

Cool.

It seems like upgrades are going to go ridiculously senior starting as of last award. Not even the current #5 FO in LAX was senior enough to get a slot and he's 500 in seniority.

This is comparing to the Award that came out the month before where someone in the in the upper 800s got a slot (lucky, although he'll be on reserve forever).

Yes, relatively speaking. Just last month, we had #950 on the CA alternate list and just 4 weeks later it goes down to #500. That is a jump of half the pilot group.
