Except we are not getting 28 more planes (what would be growth of 50% now)
When there were 40 planes adding 20, vs now with 56 it would have to be 28 to be on the same magnitude.
But it's TSH, they prefer the reactive to being proactive. So like Fpmx772 said, this was expected.

They'll offer critical pay at 200% before they upgrade more. I think it's been said on this thread before, picking up open time at 100% means to the company that you're willing to give up off days at no premium.
If people stop picking up critical pay trips they'll have incentive to put more people in the left seat.

You're correct, but you know what else would have boosted morale? Getting payroll correct and not violating the contract.

The only CAs that are right seat qualified are LCAs and I imagine that there's something in the contract that protects FOs from right seat CA flying except in extreme circumstances.

Well your last couple of words in your statement would be why we would use two CAs in one cockpit. I don't think that would happen but I also wouldn't hold my breath about it not happening.

So we're upgrading about 10 a month on average, and in 2015 and through some part of 2016 we've been hiring 30+ people a month. I just looked at the latest seniority list, and through the end of 2015 there are on average about 20 remaining FOs per month. So with each passing month at the current upgrade rate, people will be falling an additional month behind. If July 2015 hires could get 2 years and 2 months, December 2015 will be 2 y. 7 m., and so on into 2016. And that's not even counting the couple of dozen bypassing FOs senior to the most junior CA awarded. So unless something changes, summer 2016 hires are likely looking at 3+ years.
As many others have said, I really hope the company picks up upgrades. That being said, I'm afraid they won't until we actually start cancelling flights.

Also sure can't help to have some pilot talent check in here and see "3+ year upgrade" printed here, especially when your company is trying to hire a ton

The Company would have to bring every Captain into the training center to have them checked out in the right seat.
