FlytheSky brings up a very valid question that I pondered during my time at CPZ. If IROPS are normal, then they technically would be regular ops. So if regular ops are irregular, which are considered irregular ones?
This is why I don't have a degree in philosophy. I can't figure this stuff out.

So back to the old brake release procedure! To save a few $ at the expense of the crews and on-time performance, which already sucks.

Edit: Ahh I see it now. nevermind. But why? Seems silly to do that procedure gain. How many "late" flights will we have due to waiting for the inbounds to clear the alley or metering being too busy to get a word in?

...Nothing changed with the last procedure change, that's why performance didn't improve... don't see anything changing now. Block times being up is a result of the LAX nightmare mess getting even worse and poor network planning. Has nothing to do with dropping the brake... Until they actually attack the root issues causing, block times will be just as long and our performance will continue to suck. Hopefully the T2/T3 move will fix at least the alley/gate space issue. Anybody know # of gates at present DL owns in T5/T6 vs how many they are getting up at T2/3?
