Page 11-30 "17. Cost of Training
All new hire Pilots who are type rated pursuant to
subparagraph 11.V.16. above and subsequently resign
within twelve (12) months are responsible to reimburse the
Company for training costs associated with Pilot’s Initial
Training in the amount of twelve thousand dollars
($12,000.00). This amount will be prorated over the twelve
(12) months from completion of training at the rate of onetwelfth
(1/12) per month on payroll. A Pilot who resigns
following a Company announcement of a Pilot layoff which
(i) includes the Pilot, or (ii) the Pilot could reasonably
presume would include the Pilot, will not be required to
reimburse this cost."

Actually our CBA allows for recoupment of training costs if you leave before 12 months. I don't remember the exact amount but it is prorated by the month.

Just had a buddy drop a $7,500 check in the mail - he was worried they would contact his new (aka dream) employer.

Your buddy just gave 7.5k to a bunch of thieves. They can't by law contact a new employer, and he didn't sign any contract and thus didn't owe them anything. I'm afraid more people will get conned like that. Shame on Compass!

If they are actually trying to go after guys for money, how's the balance sheet?
I still can't imagine that they'd go after guys for a training contract...especially since unlike other airlines, no one was made to sign a promissory note.

What I don't understand is why there is the feeling of being exempt from what's going on at the other TSH companies? Please enlighten me, what makes Compass the golden child?
