Its like writing down a taxi clearance in Seattle or having the taxi chart open. I'm 99.9999999% sure I know how to get from spot 99 to the end of 16L in SEA without getting lost but I still do it because I don't want to be the guy that gets caught having forgot to pull it up.

None of these things are hard. They may be stupid and unnecessary but they're not hard. But build up a habit pattern of NOT doing them, and when the Fed is on board, there's a much greater chance of you forgetting.
Saying it for habit and actually enforcing it are two different things. As long as you don't enforce, that's fine I've heard just a handful of CAs and even FOs that do and most people just roll their eyes and look forward to the end of that trip. I had a guy tell me he just does it so he won't forget on a line/fed check. No problem.

Is typing the taxi clearance in the box pretty much the same as writing it down? I swear it's the same info being recorded by me just using different pieces of technology (pen and paper vs. digital). I'm a clearance typer simply because I can type it faster than I can write it.

you know I totally understand their reasoning for wanting us to write it down vs putting it in the scratch pad. I always type it out in the back at the last place and more than once had to clear it to change frequency. Too, there is more than one way to tune a radio.

Either way it seems like that would be more of a best practices thing vs an actual procedure.

Can anybody chime in who has the Leather Jacket from M&H. Is it decent quality? Comfy? Is the fit true to size?

Thanks,

It's not too bad and fits pretty true to size, but just get the blazer and call it a day. In the 2 years I have been here I've worn the leather maybe 5 times

yes to pretty much all. I'm happy with mine. It's comfortable and feels a bit more casual. Though in LA it's a bit overkill. If it's a trip that's stats mostly south I'll just wear the blazer.

Another good thing about the jacket is I can wear it when not at work and not have to worry about packing another coat/jacket. Just pop the wings off and you won't look TOO toolish.

As far as being taken advantage of, if you think by doing the same exact job as mainline and being paid pennies on the dollar is not being taken advantage of, well I can't help you. The regional sector should never ever be thought of as a stepping stone. We are all professional aviators and should be compensated as such.
decent rant.

I like mine, never bought the blazer. Just take out the inner lining and it's a pretty light weight jacket. Plus, I don't wear it in the terminal, just bring it along and lay it over the bag. Some of the people think you have to wear it at all times during the winter, but i never have unless it's cold. I don't think the intent of our manual was to say it must be on at all times anyway, but who cares. If it's hot, take it off!

TSH might have to, but they'll do it begrudgingly. As ALPA said in their communications, the bonus was authorized without their input or blessing.

Where is that TeaBag guy with the "good thing to come next Friday". I think he was writing that in the wrong thread
