What about it? Msp fo has gotten amazingly jr for the company and has gone outta training, yeah. I dunno what it takes to hold a line there, but reserve is easy right now.
Wanting to do things to improve this place and make it better is not the same as being unhappy.

I had read that new hires were going to be sent to MSP instead of LA. Was curious if they had finally fully staffed their LA base.

Does anyone know what happens to your schedule when you come close to your 1000 hrs in 365 days? Does the company just pull trips off your schedule after the bid comes out?

Msp being jr was bound to happen. 90% of the seniority list was hired to fill LAX. The "old guard" from before LAX and the AA/west coast expansion is no longer there either. Now theres only a handful left on property that actually want MSP. Compass is no longer a midwest regional.

A handful? try 200. Besides the Fo's that got awarded MSP (which, they could have wanted it for all we know) everyone in MSP has bid for it. (at least 160 right there) On top of that, there is a ridiculous amount of commuters to the west coast bases purely for seniority reasons. Heck, even guys from the east coast and guys from Minneapolis. Once they become more even, Im sure many more will bid out of the west coast and back to MSP. Especially the captains still waiting to get in/back to the Midwest after DTW closed. There is at least 20-30 captains in LA that want MSP when they can get it and hold a line. The captain side in MSP will be the most senior base for a little while still until a good chunk of the top of the list leave/retire.
And by handful in my mind I was thinking about 100-150 people.

Did he just say a Compass pilot retire? Name one pilot that would retire. The older ones are instructors and off the seniority list already.

There is a very minute way and/or chance, if any that you'll fly over 1000 hours blk inside of 365 days to the point where the company will have to buy out the 1 or 2 months remaining, because even if say, you flew 95 hours per month in avg, you would still have a hard time doing that during your 6 month, 9 month and 12month periods where the available days to fly decrease.
The only people that could maybe pull this off are the top 10 guys in the FO seniority list in LA that could bid for, say, 3 specific 31-32 hour 5 days, but by the time you get there you've either already upgraded or prefer the 19 days off.
Furthermore, at least on the Delta side, the trips are way overblocked, so you may start a 95 blk month that will only give you 90.
