I am sure their 'lobbying' efforts are as much focused on discrediting hydroxychloroquine as they are influencing the FDA and policy makers.

Excellent point!

I'm about as liberal as you'll find in this profession and if HCQ works, great! Send it to every man, woman and child who needs it! Do it now! But the way President Trump has been promoting it as a "miracle cure" is at best, as laughable as his assertion that this "flu" will be gone by April and at worst as dangerous as the weeks of ill informed bluster, inaction and mismanagement that we've seen from this administration.

That's a long winded way of saying...not sure exactly what argument The Babylon Bee is satirizing here.
This. 100%.

Not a direct quote. Those quotation marks were meant to indicate I was paraphrasing. But near enough as makes no difference.

Hoping it works and saying it’s a miracle cure aren’t the same. Surely you know that...

When the president says, during the middle of a pandemic, that drugs will be a game changer and biggest thing in the history of medicine, it carries more weight than just some guy who read about out it in the news. Even if he says he hopes, when he says it with the full weight and knowledge of the most powerful entity on Earth. It shouldn't be parroting something you saw on Fox and Friends. When the President speaks, it should be with a purpose. And all know he did it to boost the stock market. That's probably the only thing he cares about.

Bill of Rights. 10th Amendment is a good place to start. You'd think a native New Yorker and a U of Penn grad would have a clue.

Read the tweet. He called it "a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine." That carries far more weight than saying "gosh I hope this works". Even more so that it came from the President. I will grant you that he didn't say the words "miracle cure" but you can't keep denying that the words he does use when talking about HCQ are not far off.

fake news. Mesabah said a vaccine can’t be produced that quickly so quit promoting it as such.
I hope I'm wrong. The vaccine for the original SARS1, developed in 2003, has been stuck in manufacturing quality control for 17 years. Hopefully, we will invent new technology in the coming weeks to make it work for SARS2.

Thats an old epidemic and there’s no money in it.
