It's not that bad. Several folks around here (central NJ) have had to be hospitalized and put on high volume 02 before they started to get it. It seemed to keep the disease from evolving to the stage where a respirator/ventilator would have been needed and they got well enough to go home and finish convalescing there.

The other dynamic working against hydroxychloroquine and its potential use as in a treatment regiment for the Wu Flu is perhaps even more significant then Orange Man Bad syndrome: big pharma will not get rich on it. They all race to be approved for treatments / vaccines by FDA - which would mean billions in new income. I am sure their 'lobbying' efforts are as much focused on discrediting hydroxychloroquine as they are influencing the FDA and policy makers.

I get that its satire. But its satirizing an argument that no one is making. The point that those "liberal" doctors, scientists and media are making is that there is an established and proven process to figure out safe and effective treatments. That process isn't just throwing drugs at it cause you heard its shown some effectiveness anecdotally and in poorly constructed tests. I'm about as liberal as you'll find in this profession and if HCQ works, great! Send it to every man, woman and child who needs it! Do it now! But the way President Trump has been promoting it as a "miracle cure" is at best, as laughable as his assertion that this "flu" will be gone by April and at worst as dangerous as the weeks of ill informed bluster, inaction and mismanagement that we've seen from this administration.

That's a long winded way of saying...not sure exactly what argument The Babylon Bee is satirizing here.

I'd agree here. Never underestimate Big Pharma's desire and ability to profit off fear and lack of information.

One would presume the leader of any country has read their own Constitution. Wrong. Medical advice is beyond ridiculous.

I believe Trump is on record as not being much of a "reader". Maybe someone can read the constitution on Fox and Friends or post it on Twitter? John Oliver famously has paid for ads to air during Fox and Friends to inform Trump about some of the issues he has been woefully wrong on.

The Trump Virus. He now owns it. Where are the real conservatives?
