So next 4 weeks are gonna suck. That’s just a given. Here’s hoping the YOY percentages hold up.

Thanks - 755/1932 = 39%, week ago was 789/2050 or 38% - still +ve trend relative 2019

(yes, I could do it to greater accuracy, and discover the increase was only 0.6%, but meh...)

39% of 2019

Last Saturday was 38.4%..

I know at the LCC I work at they are now seeing a reversal of the trend of when Covid case counts rise, demand and bookings sink. Probably due to a combination of Covid fatigue and more education on the safety of flying, HEPA filters etc....How the holidays will go is anyone’s guess.

To clarify, your LLC is seeing a rising demand and rising bookings? Trying to construct that from a double negative. Am I understanding what you are saying?

I believe what he is saying is that earlier this year there was a very predictable correlation between booking curves and infection curves that is no longer being seen. In other words, the rise in cases does not seem to be driving a decrease in demand.

Sorry. So the trend has usually been, as case counts start to rise like we saw in July, bookings fall. That trend hasn’t carried over into this second wave of case counts we are seeing now, at least not yet.
