40.8% of same day 2019, really good to see +40%

Infections are going up, so seeing these TSA percentages go up is nice to see (for our industry), hopefully these 2 vaccines get out quickly and help to at least level the infections quickly.
This is great news for our industry. Public sentiment has changed dramatically since the summer.

The numbers are going up very slowly. I’m hoping that the vaccines and therapeutics work as well, but there has been a bunch of damage done, and it’s not over yet. States are reimplementing restrictions on their citizens and businesses. The financial damage from more restrictions will have an economic fallout and limit how many people can afford to buy tickets. I’m hoping that the industry is able to get back to 80% 2019 levels by the end of 2022.

The official predictions by the 'experts' is that the world will be back to 2019 levels by 2025 and some believe that the USA will be back to 2019 levels by 2024.

So 80% by end of 2022 is probably a good guess noting he recovery will slow as it reaches the top.

That is not true

Positive cases up. Testing is up, and continues as people freak out over a bug that is 99.76% survivable (unless you are obese - that is not a good demo to be in with this bug). I digress.

A case does not meet infection criteria at the outset. A case becomes and infection when patient presents with fever and symptoms of sever URI. Simply having a positive test is not an infection. Infections rates are maintaining pretty stable MoM.

Get your terminology correct if you are going to post in public.

Wait I thought you guys said that once the vaccine comes out it all gets better?

WTF happened?

And your god of virus has said that you must continue to mask up and social distance despite vaccine. OMG! So does the vaccine work, or not? When will it end?!?!?

Why?

Because of Baye’s Theorem, that’s why.

And if you don’t understand Bayes Theorem, you have no business advocating for (or against) any screening test.
Totally agree. Every school boy would agree with this.

Wow, what a total troll you are, if you're going to beat me up over semantics why don't you check your spelling thoroughly before hitting the Submit Reply button.

FYI, I 100 percent agree that cases are up because testing is up, but the overall percentage of those testing are testing positive at a higher rate the last few weeks, at least in my state (FL). I'm not freaking out, and like you, I'm not afraid of this virus, you're absolutely right, if you're even a somewhat healthy individual you have very little to fear (not that anyone should be TRYING to get it).

Now let's get back on subject and not thread drift about semantics, but focus on the TSA numbers in this forum.

It is really better not to engage with people like that.

Dr. Fauci has a Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded from a Republican President.

He has served this country for half a century and worked with administrations lead by both parties.

I get it - he said don't wear masks early in the pandemic. This was a brand-new virus that no-one had experience with (and we were probably lied to by China) and he made the comments in early March.

People make mistakes. It happens - we have all made mistakes. He gives recommendations regarding public health and how best to manage the spread. How to weigh those public health measures versus the impact on the economy from limiting indoor capacity or implementing curfews is made by other people. Some jurisdictions have decided to not impose any measures. Some have decided to severely limit the indoor activities that people can pursue.

The subtext to this entire thread is that the pandemic has directly affected the livelihoods of many on this board - as such the vitriol is understandable but still not warranted. Dr. Fauci doesn't deserve death threats against him and his family.

I am assuming most on this thread are men so I'll give some unsolicited and probably unwanted advice - be stoic. Life will always throw curveballs at you - don't get upset, learn a new skill or start a side business so that you are never in a position that one person or event can so negatively impact your life that you act like a child and pout.

COVID sucks for everyone.

The people (in this thread) who insisted that cases are not important "a casedemic" and instead to focus on hospitalizations and deaths are oddly quiet now. Hospitalizations hit a record high yesterday in the US. Deaths have not been this high since May.

Hospitalization lag cases by 11-13 days. Deaths lag hospitalizations by a similar amount.
