Oh, and by the way, even with my admittedly poor math skills, the death rate per million in the US is 19% higher than Sweden. Not 40%. And the USA rate is still growing while Sweden is pretty much DONE with the outbreak. Herd immunity is the only solution and Sweden got there before anybody else.

Theres zero evidence that Sweden has achieved herd immunity. Also Sweden self isolated for months even without mandates. Stores, streets as well as their economy was closed. Only a small percentage, I think it was 10% have shown antibodies. Also it’s Sweden, not the US.

Why do you keep lying, over and over and over again?

Antibodies are largely irrelevant in determining who has long term immunity from COVID-19.

The entire death rate in Scandinavia from COVID is now ZERO (0) and they don't wear masks.

Honestly buddy, who do you think you are fooling anymore?

ok but even Sweden admits it’s not due to herd immunity. In fact they never had plans to achieve herd immunity, it’s a notion picked up by the deniers here. They just relied on their people to self isolate and do the right thing. That’s it. How do you expect that to happen here when we can’t even agree on masks. Also just because masks aren’t official it doesn’t mean that they don’t follow strict social distancing and isolation in those countries.

Default Back to flying

I'm a GA pilot who used to also fly a lot commercially. I have to do a trip next week SFO-GJT-SEA-SFO. Carrying too much stuff this trip to fly my Archer. I thought for about a minute about a trip with my head 3 feet in front, behind, and next to people drinking and eating around their masks. Even with air exchange.

I'm driving. See all you airline folks again when there is a vaccine.

I hope there are psychological studies done in the future to discover how this virus became so feared by the healthy portions of the populace.

I have seen multiple social media accounts with people self identifying themselves a “Covid survivor” - as if it were cancer. Our response to this as a country has been truly bizarre - ranging from one extreme to the other.

Shhh.. quit throwing facts and correlations at them.. They start hyperventilating.

I remember thirty years ago, when I heard similar speeches from smokers. "Sure, smoking may be bad for me - or maybe not - but only crazy people worry about a little second-hand smoke. Stay in the no-smoking section of the aircraft and you will be fine."

Fortunately, with evidence supporting them, the non-smokers won that argument. The "worried about covid" people will win this one, too.

That's a bizarre correlation that isn't remotely similar - if for no other reason than exposure. Nearly 50% of US adults considered themselves "smokers" in the 1950s. According to Gallup, over a third of Americans said they had smoked at least one cigarette in the last week as recently as the early 2000s.

Today's airlines use a filtration system that pumps in and filters the entire cabin's air - completely new - every 2-3 minutes.

Do you mind me asking what exactly you're afraid of?

No one here is saying Covid isn’t bad for you. That’s a terrible example. Human beings, being critical thinkers, disagree on the extent of injury from Covid verse the responses being implemented. All human beings, for the most part, want the same thing. People just inherently have different ideas on how to achieve it. Sadly in today’s political environment, people on different side of the political spectrum view each other as evil or ignorant instead of weighing all sides of an argument to achieve an informed and well balanced opinion.
