Over forty years plus voting in many different parts of the country poor and wealthy, city and rural, I have never seen, heard, or witnessed anything like that type of wait. Unless you can link a news story or something else to verify that I am going to have to call bull******. Even with fifty or seventy five people in front of me I have never taken more than 30 minutes to get to a voting machine. And you say this was at an early voting location. Its not even election day.

I did not. Sent a letter with them the first time it happened to the Board of Elections. Thereafter, I just shredded those ballots.

Funnily enough I would have probably expected a long wait on the first day of early voting that was on a holiday, but I never go to the store on the weekend and I never go to the beach on Labor day or the fourth.

The guy I saw was from GA IIRC, so possibly a victim of the system malfunction. I’d agree that we need secure easily distributed voting options. I don’t have much faith or confidence it will be done in an equitable manner. So I say register people while they do normal transactions throughout the year. Make in-person voting available for days before the election, guarantee paid time off to vote and help people get IDs if you require them.

Early voting in person is available in 36 states already. It is 2020. We have the technology through blockchain to have secure voting from any computer or smart phone. Once people have been properly registered I would have absolutely no problem with them voting on their own devices. I am certainly interested in every qualified person being able to cast a vote.

Hell, if you can do your taxes online, you can sure as hell vote online. That doesn't necessarily mean that everyone has access of course, but that plus reasonable in-person and absentee ballots would be a huge step forward.
Our state provides for voting registration when you renew the DL or get the dividend subsidy, which most all residents get, that works pretty well. Something similar should happen on a national scale, register with filing of taxes.

The IRS is not organized or skilled enough to be handling voter registration. The amount of tax fraud is indicative of their lack of investigative skill. Voters should be able to vote using their blockchain key but the registration still needs to be in person and someone has to be able to verify identity. There will always be some effort required of citizens to exercise their rights. Freedom carries some responsibility. People in other countries sometimes travel and spend days to vote. The least we Americans can do is spend a little time at the post office, library, county office, or DMV to get registered.
