My doc prescribed a z-pack and some steroids with the intent on reducing the risk of pneumonia or other pulmonary infection.

I still have the cough but it doesn’t hurt anymore. Day 10 and banged in sick for tomorrow. I’m not going back coughing like this.

I had COVID early January, I would not have known if my husband didn’t have it first and tested for it. I decided to test once he got the positive results, and he only tested because he was supposed to fly a contract trip. My Covid experience was a very runny nose which is typically what I get with any cold, and maybe a little fatigue followed by no smell. My sense of smell was absolutely gone for at least 2 weeks. I smelled ammonia (I believe a central nervous system response) the day I lost it, also very weird, but I knew that’s what was happening in real time. Everything has returned to normal and sense of smell back after a few weeks. I guess I’m lucky, he was bed ridden for days and still has a cough. This thing doesn’t care, it just bites certain people harder than others.

Well, today is a month since I tested positive. Everything has resolved except for the cough. Anybody else struggle with the cough for a long while after recovering?

Glad to hear you are almost 100%. I had gotten a little worried when you stopped posting.

Thanks. Appreciate it. Other than the cough I'm good. Thinking of calling the doc tomorrow and seeing what they say about it.

My wife’s cough lasted about 5-6 weeks although she does have COPD. No lasting problems nearly a year later.

So I tested positive on a PCR 40 days after last test.

Zero symptoms ever this round.

Of course the Navy has gone full stupid.

Finally back to 100%. Going back to work in a week or so. Have to admit I'm a little apprehensive about going out there and being exposed again, potentially to the new variants that can elude the antibodies generated by the first infection. Vaccines aren't available for transportation workers in my state as of yet.

You most likely have enough immunity to avoid a serious case of any covid strain for the rest of the year.
