I live in Texas. Most, but not all, businesses still have the mask signs up but I haven't seen a single business enforcing it on customers. Employees are still masked up usually but only about 25% of the customers are. I'm in the 75% of the others.
Went to see a doctor the other day and I wore the mask thinking if there's anywhere that's going to still require it, it will be the doctor's office. Doctor walks in and says "Take that mask off, there isn't any mask mandate anymore..." and then on to a little soapbox about how stupid the whole mask thing is.

My son had a stomach bug and had to stay out of school last week. School wanted a negative test for him to return so off to testing we went. Got there and the doctor at the facility wasn't wearing a mask (our state still has a mandate). I asked him why he didn't wear a mask since he is in a testing facility where positive patients are a real possibility. He said, meh they don't do anything. My AME said the same at my last renewal.

I believe they work too, just not for the general population. If you have some reason to believe you are infected or have any symptoms you need a mask. If you are going to be around people who are vulnerable, you need a mask. For passing by people in a store or on the street it is completely unnecessary.

Congratulations, a lot of them think the opposite. Hard for you to believe I’m sure.

Me too. I’m amazed to hear it’s an MD. every other time I hear a “my doctor told my masks are dumb” story the “doctor” turns out to be their chiropractor.
