Vaccines don't have long-term effects, that's well known and that's WHY they can fast track them. Flu vaccines are now developed in a few months, to get inside the annual seasonal cycles. In biology I won't absolutely rule out anything but since we understand the mechanisms involved it's pretty easy to assess that risk is astronomically low.

If it was going to happen, it would have already happened.
Some of us aren’t worried about the long term effects, but rather the short term effects. Specifically the effect of having heart problems or blood clots, and possible strokes.

In fact, it has gotten millions of people out of this mess by limiting the spread and greatly reducing symptoms/hospitalizations for the rare breakthrough cases. If the misinformation would just stop and people trust the actual experts we'd be a whole lot farther along. Instead, some prefer to make up a bunch of what-ifs that would get them booted from a 5th grade science class.

It's like a bunch of private pilots sitting around telling 121 folks how to fly and how things 'really' work. I don't get it, we live in a world where people won't believe verifiable facts from a myriad of institutions such as the MIT article I referenced. But will readily believe their neighbor, highly 'researched' Facebook meme, or say conservative talk show host (who is probably dead from COVID) over the actual experts. We've failed bigly in that regard here in 'Murica.

If Drum's right I wouldn't want to be around to find out. Hundreds of millions dead including the vast majority of smart people and medical professionals, then you die from a splinter because nobody knows how to make penicillin anymore.

But your Facebook buddy who majored in Gym class and works at the parts department of his hometown Toyota dealer will still be around, so you got that going for you.

Misinformation?? Hmmm… would that be like the part where you claim the vaccines stop the spread - because THAT is an absolute falsehood.

You are so wrong it’s not even funny. The vaccine did nothing to reduce the spread. In fact it increased the spread. But nothing was going to stop it anyway. Milder symptoms for the vaccinated is a fact. But slowing the spread is fiction.

If you got COVID last year, and you think that whatever you got and (luckily) survived from in summer 2020 is going to protect you from what is floating around today....

Well, good luck.

is that not how immunity works anymore? I thought you were a follow the science guy. Do you have some studies that show the way viral immunity has worked for the last 2000 years has changed? I guess the vaccine based on whatever worked last year still works better?

Man that is some stupid there.

Hey, remember the one time you got the flu as a child and then never had it again? No?

Viruses will change. Immunities will wane. You will get COVID again. Second infections are already starting.
