I'm thinking it's about time for delta to buy an airplane manufacturer. They already bought their fuel supplier and regional airline. If they buy this they can export to other airlines and keep them out of the hands of UA and AA along with having their own supply of regional jets and narrow body planes for US use.

Delta directly owns 49% of Virgin. Air France-KLM owns 31% of Virgin. Delta owns 10% of Air France-KLM. Bottom line is we control more than 51% of Virgin. They/we could buy the C series through Virgin for us and have them/us lease it to us. Basically we’d lease it to ourselves. Confused?

That’s actually a good idea.

Then this happened.
I wonder where those A350s came from? The delivery slots were pretty firm until...

Just remember that works in reverse too. Not too long ago a manager from one of our European partners (subsidiaries) announced an alter ego NIA competing product using Delta A330s flown by Europeans.
Then this happened.

Air France. So we’re going to own a part of Joon too through Air France. That is interesting. You could start an entire new thread on this topic. (Sorry to gunk up the C-series thread.) Do you have more details about the Delta 330 deal that didn’t happen? I vaguely remember something about that but I don’t have any details.
