Final assembly logistics for the Alabama plant are supposed to be 18-24 months.

Yes, because the Delta Cseries are now a US product, not a foreign product subject to a tariff. The Cseries aircraft built in Canada will carry the 300% tariff. Bombardier did not complete the required work to win the ITC case, it is obvious now they withheld the information to protect this Airbus deal.

Ok, thanks. I just read the article linked by notEnuf and it says the same thing.

Looks like Boeing may have shot themselves in the foot on a number of fronts.

I still think there is a chance no financial harm against Boeing will be the decision in February. Again, it offered the E190 to Delta. If that happens, perhaps Delta will see CS100s sooner.

Regardless, eventual final assembly in Mobile makes great economic and political sense.

Also, to be considered US made, could final assembly not be as simple as slapping the hubcaps on in Mobile?
Plant ramp up takes forever, a lot of the machines are custom engineered for the product. Final assembly is a very complex process. Here is a video of what will take place in Alabama

Thanks. I saw NotEnuf's post for the 24 month reference also. However, I'm pretty certain they could circumvent it in the interim with final assembly of some items done on the ramp in Mobile. The plane can be flown without gear doors I'm sure. Fly it down to AL, mount the doors, and poof. US "made". This is just me likely being naive but I'm sure there's a way to accomplish this without the need for an entire facility.

Foeing is bucked!

At American we have heard for a number of months now that we need a “large” order for the 100-150 seat market. The thought was the 319Neo, but the C-100/300 was also mentioned several times in our internal company crew news sessions.

With the 319Neo being effectively killed off, I have no doubt that the Alabama plant will be used for a growing US market.

Rumor on the JB forum is that the CEO Robin is also interested in the CSeries after continuing issues with the E190....

No doubt many more airlines will be looking at both the CS100 and CS300 with this agreement. Look for some great package deals....

Stranger things have happened, but almost no chance of Bombardier winning the ITC case, now that especially, thousands of potential US jobs in a red state are coming as a result of this case.

Also with Jetblue looking for a deal, which is almost certain now that it is backed by Airbus, there is a case for injury.

I wonder if there is more method to all this madness. An almost bankrupt company, with a new innovative airframe that nobody seems to be ordering. Dump them in the US knowing full well Boeing will try to put a stop to it. Then they partner with a European aerospace giant and assemble them in the good old US of A. Now there is an innovative "American Made" alternative that just might swell the order books without tariff worries and they can build and sell the larger models that do compete with Boeing offerings.
My conspiracy theory of the day.
