So they're building a CS assembly line in the US? If so, will it cost the same/similar? If so, wouldn't the same penalties still apply? In either case they should buy the A300 plans from AB, hang some GTF's and winglets on it, then offer it for sale at its true price for them to produce new with no discounts, knowing no one would/could buy it for that, then sue BA for price dumping.

I need to do some more digging on this, but the Mobile assembly line is owned by Airbus Group, Inc, which is an American company headquartered in Virginia. I believe the 50.01% ownership of the C Series program that Airbus acquired will fall under Airbus Group, Inc. That would make the C Series over 50% made in the US, over 50% owned in the US, and assembled in the US. It probably won't be considered an imported product and could skirt the tariffs if they are upheld.

Yes, an assembly line will be opened at the Airbus facility in Mobile. This means that more than 50% of the C Series will be made in the US in addition to its final assembly.

So my guess is Boeing's week was like:

[QUOTE=Denny Crane;2450828]Well, the whole deal kinda puts Delta between a rock and a hard place. Do they put out an AE now and then have to possibly wait close to 2 years for delivery or do they wait for a final ruling from the US ITC early next year? My WAG is that the AE for the CS keeps slipping....
Denny[/QUOTE). If the wait for the C series is indeed two years what are we going to do regarding additional aircraft during the wait?

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but what is your deal with the CSeries? I'm an airplane dork too, but I can hardly muster 10% of the interest you seem to have in this aircraft. Your unadulterated praise for everything CSeries makes you come across as a human embodiment of a corporate advertisement campaign. I don't know, maybe just once try responding with a joke instead of a link to a video about how awesome the newest version of a flying tube with seats is.

Hopefully we can bail them out with a dual fleet qual for great flexibility. We could even do a rolling E C B A period double recurrent to keep them ready to go whenever and if-ever they show up. If that doesn't work, Lance Captains, PRP's and a 2 year dispensation for Swiss/Baltic pilots to bid the VB's should also help.
