In pay the 767 and 757-300 are not wide-bodies but carry 230ish passengers. The diameter of the tube isn't really relevant anymore. The efficiency of scale is the real measure.

We will not expand traditional "wide-body" routes. Our partners on the other hand are ordering growth airplanes like 787s and 777-300s.

ERs are getting pretty long in the tooth. Their retirement can’t be too far behind the MDs.

Second oldest fleet after the MD-88 is the A320. There's still 40-45 built between '90-'93 out there. I'm sure they'll soon be reincarnated as cans of water on Southwest.
