Do you know if you had location service enabled?? Curious if that accounts for your observed battery issue.

No, I had that disabled. It could have been total coincidence, but the battery issue starting occurring right after I downloaded ARCOS. It was draining my battery much faster than normal(about double). I manually disabled "keep me logged in", and it went back to normal .

Had my first ARCOS experience this morning. 0120 EDT, phone rings, email tone and text message. Woke up the wife, the dog and one of the kids. All for a green slip someone else got. Definitely not an improvement.

A whole lot of easy solutions. If you need some ideas, u might consider turning off your phone with the ARCOS number enabled, putting in your green slip request with no call between xxx-xxx hours, or....quit buying lottery tickets in anticipation of hitting the jackpot

If you get a call, at least u know u are on the short list and can start getting the ball rolling if you are a commuter....it's not like they blast the call out to everybody in your category(all 450 of them)
Some will gladly accept a few rim shots in anticipation of driving it home on a few occasions....others can complain....the choice is yours. Plenty of pilots NEVER enter ANY green slip requests. You have already proven what you are.....the rest is just negotiating the price. As I am a self proclaimed commuter *****,I love the fact that they don't have to troll thru 10 guys prior to me all with 10 minutes or more to know that I am in the running and need to start making tentative plans. Once I got a green slip that was 4 hours after the first voice mail contact, but they were busy and had not moved on. This is the new price of doing business. I welcome it, because it is more in line with seniority bidding because it is all automated
Two days ago gas was $2.69./gallon, today it's $2.89....I tried to tell the attendant that that's not better....he just looked at me

If you're actually so supportive of this partial qol disaster because it might cause some (as you encourage with all of your "easy solutions") to pull some portion of their green slips and potentially give you more, that's understandable. My hunch is that this will get fixed or greatly improved and you'll settle out about where you were before ARCOS, and your ALPA brethren (remember, they're on your team despite your attitude toward them) won't have to play the lotto.

The games I'm eluding has something to do with pilots having some crew schedulers cell phone numbers and negotiating things on the side for them. I've had it explained to me once by someone who played that game, and essentially once the trip becomes time-critical (inside of 3 hours) the schedulers are authorized to cover the trip by any means necessary. Personally, I'll be glad to see that crap gone.

While I don't completely agree with you about contacting pilots who are "on the short list", I definitely agree that making the process more automated is probably better from the standpoint that it will cut back on some of the "games" people have played in the past.

This is my only real issue with the new concept executed under ARCOS. My sleep is valuable, if I'm going to give away sleep there needs to be an upside. Waking me and/or my family for zero return is unacceptable.

I've proven why I am? How so? That I'm annoyed at a QOL reduction unilaterally imposed by the Company completely outside the negotiating process?
I think you've proven what you are. Might as well go ahead and mail in your YES vote now for C2019. Apparently the company can do as they wish. And you're ok with that.
You're turning this into a "commuter" vs. "live-in-base" pilot vs. pilot squabble. It isn't. If you let that happen, you are playing right into their hands by letting yourself get distracted from the real threat. One day it may be the commuting policy that comes under attack. What then? Should I stand up cheer because I live in base?

I posted in the major forum and the topic completely got derailed, but for anybody interested check out Joe Rogan Experience episode #1109. Poor sleep can account for heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, weight gain, poor mental and physical functions, and just plain old feeling like crap. 7 hours of sleep is probably the single most important thing you can do for yourself when it comes to your personal well-being. When I choose to sacrifice my sleep I need to be compensated, 1 am lotto is a huge QoL loss that can't be meekly given away for nothing.
