You really wear that big-ass Bose while in a passenger seat? Do you keep the boom mic in front of your mouth? 😁 j/k

I prefer Bluetooth earbuds when not in the cockpit. Don’t want to wear heavy over-the-head headsets any more than I have to.

Default Headset compatibility on DAL aircraft

Lol I did because I didn’t want to bring another set of headphones. The boom mike shows up along the right side (FO setup) or left side (CA setup) frame. But yeah, now I also bring my $10 Koss headphones for commuting. Earbuds fall out of my ears.

Buy the A20 with Bluetooth so you can talk on your phone or listen to music when commuting.
At least on the A330 Delta did not pay for power to the fifth pin on the headset jacks and batteries are required.

The QC-25's don't have booms and the are super light. they fold flat and are awesomely quiet. The UFlyMic is an adapter kit that adds a boom and aviation plugs in place of the standard 3.5mm audio plug. These can be swapped out whenever you want. I plug in the UFLyMic in the cockpit and then the 3.5mm when commuting or binge Netflix watching.

The QC-25/UFly combo is great for commuters. It's nice only carrying 1 headset vs 2.

What in-ear buds are you referring to?

Not the new Harmony set up with the QC-25. Unlike earlier models that needed battery power to hear anything, the QC-25 only needs battery power for ANR. No ear buds required

Apparently the harmony setup is new, they still don't have TSO approval from the FAA with no timeframe for completion.

I'm the opposite. The more obvious I can be that I'm busy listening to something the better. Perhaps a neon sign that says LEAVE ME ALONE on a big gold chain worn around my neck like Flava Flav would be the ultimate.

I read their entire website and can’t find a reference to deleting the ear buds for the TSO. I would be very interested if they do. Do you have a source.

Can’t point you to a definitive source. The old system needed the ear buds because the QC-15 produces no sound when the battery dies. The QC-25 still works without batteries, just no ANR. The Harmony is in the middle of TSO certification without the earbud. Granted it is taking longer than I would like, they will retroactively TSO your headset if purchased now. I jumped 2 months ago to beat the backlog of orders once TSO is finished.
