All three legacies are getting contracts. The first to get one will be able to lock in their costs for the next 4 years while the other 2 will have higher costs as collective bargaining leads us to believe who ever gets a contract last will get the best one.

This management is also very image and brand conscious. If things drag on and turn ugly between the pilots and management it will not play out well. Pilot engagement, performance, and NPS scores will inevitably drop. There is some limit they can push this towards, but they will reach a point of diminishing returns if they drag on for too long.

0 closed sections shows me that our union wants to battle with management. We talk a big game, but have done 0 actual work. I've done this before. It's a losing battle. I like the way the Delta union has traditionally operated.
The biggest losers in this game are the guys retiring in the next 5-6 years who think they might have more retirement money coming. I won't be surprised if the union's biggest cheerleader, Jerry, retires on our current contract. FYI, retro disappears after a year. Signing bonuses don't apply to retired pilots.

I'm not sure that passengers at Spirit would ever notice disgruntled employees. Poor morale in our cockpits will undoubtedly affect Delta's current business model, and ability to operate so well while undermanned.

So ugly that pilots will stop making terrible PA’s when I’m trying to watch a movie? I should be so lucky.
As someone mentioned, their limit is a very, very long time.

We once had the entire airline stop flying GS’s. It did not go well in court but the senior pilots today certainly were willing to stop flying GS’s.
