Considering that half the new hires are military the 35% requirement is significant.
There is a yearly requirement that 35% of new hires comes from ALPA carriers? Did not know.

ASA was by far the largest amount of civilian pilots hired in the 07/08 timeframe. The 2014 cycle that shifted to Skywest.

Now maybe I'm wrong... but wouldn't 1994 hire put you in as someone who turned down flow to Delta already? They did hire some pilots via SSP without a degree as well but that seems to be a double whammy with no degree and turning down flow. I can understand being salty about it, but that would make it your own choices that brought you to where you are.

NewCo, which became Compass, existed before all pilots were recalled to NWA. The furloughs that went to Pinnacle, only lasted a few weeks before they decided not to. We had a few furloughs here at Mesaba, however, most were not able to work for the $20K/year, we were paying at the time.

The Comair fight over resigning seniority is interesting, in that management at Delta had control of Comair, and thus hiring. There is a whole bunch more to this story that we will probably never know.

You had to have a degree to flow to Delta.

Also, Delta flushed the NWA poolies at the merger, which sucked for those guys.

I stand corrected then. My apologies to the original poster. So that would've made it a NWA requirement as well?

No, it was not required to have a degree for the NWA flow,

Edit: After reviewing an old seniority list, it looks like he did pass up the flow, it stopped at 95 hires.

The FAs were not so lucky and were all furloughed along with other workers.
Half of the ASA Delta Connection planes went to a Endeavor.

You do know I was at Pinnacle from 03-07, right? Your memory is incorrect... I flew with a pile of NW furloughs at Pinnacle. Couldn't walk in ops without seeing at least a couple of them. They very quickly upgraded to captain (as did I).

NewCo (Compass) didn't start flying until 07, which yes there were a small handful of recalls that hadn't been offered at that point. NW started hiring later 07.

Reading this thread dredges up bad memories of all the inter-regional bickering that existed prior to the shortage and competing for bonus’.
