One of the recent ALPA updates said that even if we hired 900 between now and spring (to be ready and online for summer 2020) that we'd still be at the same staffing levels as summer 2019. But, we shall indeed see.

Can I say that I am not motivated to pick up flying that I wouldn’t normally do anyways because I am frustrated that my employer doesn’t value my time enough to increase my working conditions? Therefore I don’t feel like helping them out of a jam on my off days, of which I value higher than paid extra work time? Proven of course by the fact that I don’t really pick up trips anyways?
Look I know what your saying about concerted efforts and what not, this ain’t one..it’s simply a line guy telling you what I feel, and why. I would hazzard A guess that I'm not alone in my sentiments...

Can we get some underboob over here now to lighten it up a bit? #Free Jesse!

LOL, you joke but these webboard are hilariously well tracked by the company and others. All it takes is place ur commuting from and a date, and 2 years later the fleet ur on, followed by a "not far from 4th floor right now I'll go up and ask them" and the triangulation will hold up in court.

These guys are trying to be your bud, listen to them. It's a free country do what you want, but the internet isn't private.

He's not saying anything I wouldn't say to the face of a chief pilot, or EB himself. The Rules of the Road tells me they actually want to hear from me. Anyone who thinks that his sentiment is unacceptable by labor law, or even company policy is severely mistaken. We just can't orchestrate action as a group, that's it. Each and every Delta pilot has the right to behave legally in accordance with the PWA...AND talk about it on a "hilariously well tracked" internet forum.

No. You can't say that. You can't threaten to do anything or not anything because the company isn't doing what you want during negotiations. That's the definition of violation of status quo.

No. You cannot. If you brag about violating status quo, the company can sue the union and, believe it or not, can get APC to track your IP address. These forums AREN'T anonymous.

What's funny is guys are terrified about workplace and their iPad camera but aren't paranoid enough to know that everything you say online is tracked by someone.

Boy oh boy. Just kinda giving up on Ted here for this one topic. Anyone reading this who is still open minded, this isn't a new topic, it isn't even a new idea, and it's settled law. The company takes job actions seriously and they're already geared up for it. Just don't talk about it online.

Can someone post the status quo section of the RLA?

There's much to be leary of, and a history of litigation. None of it (that I know of) involved an individual making an individual choice about what to fly.

Now, influencing others, applying pressure, changing behavior en masse...yup, that's going to attract negative attention. But if someone thinks their backpack got too heavy and their family hated how much they were gone in the summer of 2019... they're free to do something different next year. And they don't even have to keep it a secret.

If you want to see what departure from status quo looks like... and read an apology letter about that very behavior... read the latest "sorry about this summer" letter, addressed to the entire seniority list directly from management. I'm not sure they're itching for a status quo debate in the current climate.

But that's just me. You do you.
