Delta vs Jetblue

Thread resurrection!
Looking for some of the internet’s patented good advice/intel.
Expecting a July class date, live w/in driving distance of NYC, 42 y/o. Family.
At JB for three years and sitting at 65% in JFK on the Bus. Upgrade is years away, upgrade with a line probably eight years away. Currently 3600/4500 system wide. I’ll be 57 years old before I’m top 2000. That said, life is good, enjoy my schedules for now, but I’ll be junior for another 18 years.
The WidgetSeniority site is awesome, and I’m very appreciative of it. However, I’d like to correlate it to some real world data. According to WS, it will take just over four years to sit 63% in NYC on the 73, but on the threads here, it sounds like you can be 60% in less than a year. Where’s the truth? Same with 320.
Goal is to upgrade earlier than I would at JB, or sit NYC WB/B reserve. If I go be WS, I won’t be able to sit 765B until June 2028 (and I realize new hires have recently gotten it).
Also, 320 vs 73N… which has less redeye flying? Does either do more Caribbean than the other?
Thank you!

Living in NYC, the world is your oyster at DL. Best trips, most fun crews, and best seniority.

Congrats. I think you made the right decision. jetBlue is a young airline with not that many retirements and is out there throwing all kinds of money at Spirit desperate for growth. Delta needs to hire 2000 pilots just to replace the early retirements then they have to hire for NB and WB growth. Living in driving distance of NYC you'll have access to the Delta Super Seniority Boost that NYC provides (Allows you to hold postions and flying that takes YEARS longer to hold at other bases). Withstanding Age 67 or a Black Swan, within 3 years you'll have Access to the following in NYC:

320A
73NA
765B
330B

It’s worth pointing out that all the pilots hired in 2018, 2019, and 2020 is only about 1,400. Or 7 months of hiring at the current pace.
If we keep replacing ERs with 330s across the pond out of NY in a large way, I could see that being available to someone hired today in 3 years. But I think that is very optimistic

Correct right now, when international flying isnt remotely close to 2019 levels and still many more 330 deliveries to go. If one assumes the world will return to normal and Delta gets back to 2019 level international flying plus growth within 2-3 years NYC330B will go new hire
