Id say you have a point if they weren’t hangar queens.

Puddy, whose words I was trying to channel, would be very disappointed in your negative aura, man. 😊

They've been much better recently. Haven't taken a MX delay in Months.

Let’s say you get furloughed, what happens to your vacation? Do you get it paid out?

Yes. It gets paid out your unused vacation time within 30 days of furlough

Just a guess on furlough:

Regardless of any relief we give Delta between now and October 1st, I think revenue is going to be in the 35%-40% range. Which means there really will be no choice but to furlough pilots. That’s the bad news. The good news is that as soon as most of the western world is vaccinated, people should return to flying quickly. Possibly next summer, I think if you get furloughed it will be for less than a year. I also think DALPA will make a deal with Delta to limit ALV in exchange to keep more pilots employed.
Still a total shock that this can be happening after how unstoppable things looked 90 days ago. This is a generational event.
If you’re junior, please start saving and lowering expenses. I feel pretty good that those who will not be furloughed will give the company some temporary concessions to save jobs. Hoping that I’m totally wrong and that a vaccine is implemented in record time and people’s confidence in flying returns quickly enough to make furloughs unnecessary.

I agree on all. Only question is what is given in return for the relaxing of the ALV limits? Or any other give from us, what comes back in return?

Reasonable outlook though hope you're wrong too. I've often heard unless we furlough for 2 years it isn't worth it with the displacement & training churn but no solid data so not sure. I'm 3k from the bottom and still reasonably concerned but hope we don't furlough a single pilot.

And if we do...for those perhaps unfamiliar you DO NOT pick up any extra flying as long as a single pilot is still on furlough. Fly your schedule and that's it. Bad juju.

If there are furloughs, I think the PWA needs to be amended (I’ve suggested this in every contract survey for 20 years), pilots on furlough should be able to vote on any contract/LOA.

The reason they don’t get to vote is that they will vote for any POS that gets them back on property quickest. Which is prolly true. However, the old fart retiring shortly will also vote in his best interest and do what pays him the most.....contract be damned. So, at worst each segment cancels each other out, and the middle of the road gets the say. (Additionally, I submit that the guys on furlough will not be inclined to vote in any POS cause they will have to work under it((but that prolly won’t outweigh their desire to get back on property ASAP and they will worry about that other stuff later)). So, if you find yourself furloughed thru no fault of your own, you should get to vote. I know, heresy right?
