Yes sir. I am bummed that the 717 thread got deleted because I was going to post that I heard the jets go back to SWA along with with 420 pilots. Weak, but it passes for humor while sheltering in place.

Final number for April is 6,100 flight attendants that signed up for a 1 month leave.

Unpaid, correct? If they can afford it I don't blame them since they're really on the front lines of exposure.

They may not be able to NOT afford to take it.

An age breakdown of the ones that took it cud be revealing. Any crewmember over 50 should take the threat seriously

Default Place Your Bets

Cheap entertainment. Submit your guesses for the following:
Average Age of FAs who took the leave?
Average Age of Pilots who bid for SILS in May/June?
Percentage of Pilots out sick in the next 30 days or otherwise sidelined due to known contact?

Furloughs with a large amount of potential sidelined pilots is unlikely. We could start dropping (from the schedule) like flies in a few weeks. Even if we successfully flatten the curve, we will take a huge hit in pilot availability due to contact with know positives. Cargo pilots, truck drivers, etc may be able to work after contact, we won't. Bidding a reserve line expecting to finish your kitchen remodel may not work out like planned. For us WB types used to covering a known departure window, we could have a rude awaking with DH legs to cover a layover sick call.

I claim trademark rights to the term "Corona Thunder". It could make Rolling Thunder look like amateur hour.

Of note, they are making FA’s work after known contact. I don’t think it’s
going to work out like they think it will.

Contact with a confirmed positive? Source? Or did an FA walk by someone who sneezed in an airport terminal construction zone, during allergy season, while opening a takeout packet of pepper for their food?
