And if we do...for those perhaps unfamiliar you DO NOT pick up any extra flying as long as a single pilot is still on furlough. Fly your schedule and that's it. Bad juju.
min just under 3k from the bottom. I fully expect a furlough. The question I have is for how long? I’ve heard stories it could take a while to get that far up until list.

How big of a chunk can they do at a time? Is it usually 50-100/month or can they just dump 1000 guys all at once?

If that large a number is necessary Delta is most likely gonna have to do it from the top and bottom.

The training dept is already cutting staff. Training displacement pilots with months remaining and the cascade those displacements create is a tuff economic argument to make.

I see abt 600 AA pilots took the early out. Not seeing any reason pilot behaviors here will be markedly different

when we furloughed after 911, the first 400 went out as a big chunk on November 1st, 2001. The sad part is that those remaining on property will end up voting on stuff that will directly affect you on furlough because the company will paint a bleak picture if they don’t comply. There will also be a good many that will fly max schedule and GS because it is their contractual right. Not a crystal ball but a history lesson.

I agree. My cousin is an 84’ hire and turns 62 in June. He just missed it. He tried pulling the eject handle but it stuck. According to him, a lot more probably would’ve taken it.

There is plenty of slack in the system to set up for large blocks of furlough in the fall. I’d expect the company to get guys in place between now and October where they want them for summer 2021 using their best crystal ball.

Piedmont....... now AA 84 hire. A330A PHL. But not for much longer. Lives in MCO area. We have always talked about me riding on his jumpseat for his retirement flight but it may not happen, if they offer more early outs.

He’s an A330 CA in PHL. Was the jumpseater between MCO-ATL or ATL-DTW last week? He flew up there to get his medical. His AME moved up to DTW.
