50% . I'm guessing its closer to 80% around the holidays. By then the fear will be gone and the election will take over the news and people will want to visit family.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in laughter‘s comment about an early retirement package. When he discussed it in today’s video he quickly mentioned how an early retirement package would be something the airline will need in other divisions within the airline. Once again he’s trying to keep our expectations in line with the rest of the employee groups. Ergo, they’re going to offer you three months salary and healthcare till you’re 65 to retire early. Then they can say well, we offered it up! Can’t see many people jumping on that.

Hence the ~ and "best case". His words.

As for cargo, watch again and listen closer. He absolutely said they were exploring reconfiguring aircraft and even the possibility of making cargo part of our portfolio. Again, his words not mine.

Amen to that . Maybe most of the news media people will use some sky miles and go on vacation too and stop scaring everyone, at least for the holidays .

FYI BS said in a Q&A thread on SkyHub that training off of the displacement AE would start in July. That would imply late Apr early May for results so they can get it loaded into PBS for Jun bidding.....if they stick with deadlines

You can correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember most AE's have a conversion start date in them of the month following the month they come out. As in if the AE came out in June the first conversion date could be July 1.

It doesn't seem that would be reasonable......and that's why I remember it this way.

Fixed it for you. (Probably not that late though) They are in no super hurry to post it. Probably post it Fri Apr 24 with 10-12 days to close. Results about May 12.

That could easily slip a week though.

I’m curious about the timing of an early-retirement vis a vis a surplus AE. Shouldn’t they be timed to complement one another?

Absolutely. It would be downright foolish to do a displacement AE if they are going to offer any early retirements at all. Moronic, actually.

Agreed. I would expect an early retirement program by the first week in May. Then a couple weeks to decide, a few days for the company to figure out ramifications of early out and then a posting of a Displacement Bid ( I refuse to call it an AE) about the third week of May closing around first week of June with conversions starting July 1.

Just call me Nostradamus Jr.!!!
