Agreed. I would expect an early retirement program by the first week in May. Then a couple weeks to decide, a few days for the company to figure out ramifications of early out and then a posting of a Displacement Bid ( I refuse to call it an AE) about the third week of May closing around first week of June with conversions starting July 1.

Hi Denny. Lots of stuff flying around about the early retirements. You and some of our other seasoned professionals have been thru a scuff or two, I get it. I don't expect you guys to buoy anyone junior to you (i.e. me). You guys have your own lives and families to be concerned about. Whether you guys take what the kompany offers or not, that's up to you as individuals. I'm perfectly content with whatever you guys decide that is in YOU and YOUR families best interest. Thanks for always being the gentleman. Take what you need and don't worry about us. You guys earned it.

My prediction. Early retirements will be underwhelming. Less than a 100 takers. They'll want us all to work for 50-55 hours indefinitely which could extend to a few years. 2500 still get furloughed on October 1st. FYI 55 hours is less than furlough pay per month for 12 year narrow body fo's

Yeah. Unfortunately furlough pay is only for 6 months. It's in our PWA. 1 month of furlough pay for every year of service with the company. 6 months is the max. It's about $12k per month for a 12 year guy. 55 hours as a 737 FO is less than $11k per month.

If 1000 pilots were offered 1 million each to early out, that’s a cool billion. Tough sell to the taxpayer who’s giving Delta cheddar right now.
Hard to imagine they’d take anything less. Plus they’d reasonably want health care while waiting for age 65 and Medicare.
Difficult to sell this to, say, early out flight attendants who will probably be offered 6 months salary and a buddy pass.
Curious to see where this leads.
