Pilots bad. Pilots greedy. Union bad.

We are just using a choke like in a shotgun to mitigate the spread perhaps, granted it does focus the pattern a bit. Maybe a leap, but you get the picture. Not “saying”, just asking if there might be more variables than one graph can show?

Good Point, maybe... Or does this virus spread significantly faster than the flu ever did; the flu numbers might have been significantly different with other variables included back 10, 20, 30+ years prior with the same population size of today, living on top of themselves, mental discipline, more older folks, let alone take air travel for example as this virus hit during the highest known passenger travel counts perhaps. Crap, moves quick thanks to us.

Interesting. AA short call time to report is “promptly available”. My Delta buddies said you had a defined report time in hours/minutes. Is that not the case?

This is widely misunderstood, "promptly available" is the short call requirement.
The 2 hours is in regards to reporting for short call coming off of X days (time off)...so the earliest short call time of 10 am can be delayed to noon, a nice provision for those commuting in for short call.

If you got 4000 pilots to take a SIL the savings would be roughly 35% of what reducing the ALV would generate. I think getting 4000 SIL bidders at Delta would be a stretch because of our better reserve system compared to AMR or UAL and the real total would be around 2000 so far less savings.

that makes sense why guys are looking for relief. I thought it was 5 years at a time. if they dont even give relief to this ( cheapest way to get people off the books temporarily) we know they aren't very worried about overstaffing
side note does Mil leave while on a PLOA or KLOA count against those 5 years?

No time limit in the contract WRT short call.

Promptly available is what the contract states and in NYC you only have to be promptly available for the airport of your choice.

We were easily going to give VB's a try. They blew way past the agreed upon timeframe, we allowed it, and they said it would be this base and category then sandbagged us with another for no reason other than to show that communication with us wasn't even on their backburner.
That is why VB's were pulled down.
