Do you really picture yourself as some kind of hero for retiring? And consider those who stayed 'selfish'?
JFC man, get over yourself.

You're retired. At least try to leave with dignity.

At least by taking a VEOP I have done more to help my fellow delta pilots than Jules ever will. I suspected that he was an EDV employee.

As for me, yes, I am not active DAL pilot anymore because I made a decision based on my situation and the belief it would help out a Delta Pilot junior to me. Which is far more than you can say about Jules, or yourself.
Well EDV employees have been subsidizing our salaries for a long time. So maybe Jules has actually done more for Delta than you have!

And I don't believe for one minute you took the VEOP to save pilots from furlough. The primary reason was because it worked for your situation.

And yet on another thread we are told we cant have an opinion if we aren’t on the furlough list. And if we lean no we are selfish. Here Phins helped you, and based on comments by others, he should be thanked. Murky waters, color me confused.

Don’t twist my words in that thread. You have every right to judge the LOA based on your experience and how you feel it will affect you either negatively or positively. What the 1941 are tired of hearing is other people (and I’m not saying you personally have done this) telling us how we should feel about our situation when they themselves sit in a position of safety.

Are you really so dense as to post that comment?

What do you think happened? Unicorns farted and magically we were not going to furlough 2558 folks? I just told you my calculus. You come out of left field with a messiah complex comment. WTF?

I don't understand how you can square yourself with that. Get over yourself son. Life moves way easier when you do.

As a general practice it's good for all parties to stay away from telling people how they should feel.

I understand the impulse because it allows someone to open up their reasoning, but these days everyone has tribed up and the most important thing to do is boo the other team.

You're right Jaww, me and many others used the VEOP as a means to end. Each of us had our own reasons. I gave the group mine. Now I'm being accused of having a messiah complex!?!? Whatever. They're like dealing with your crazy uncle bob. You know the guy, every family has one.

I had over 5 years left at Delta when I accepted the VEOP. That's a lot of coin at "A" pay to give up. I have a unique circumstance and some altruism. Lots of VEOPs did think about the junior peeps. I know, I talked with several of us in making the decision. If only one job preserved it was worth it. IMHO. Of course we had no idea how many as no metric was tied to VEOP vis-a-vis job saves.

These guys attacking that decision only show how petty and immature they truly are. Manlets. Stomping feet and screaming at the bad Phins. Yeah whatever, get over yourselves.

I think most of the 2558 appreciate what you did, no matter your personal reasons for taking it.

For the record, I didn’t liken you to a messiah. I suppose I should have put a comma, as in ‘JFC, man, get over yourself’. Clearer?
