Marriage terrifies me. I’m a pretty paranoid person, so I’m always thinking a person who would want to date me is out to get me for some reason. Not sure if that’s healthy, but reading through what some of you guys have been through would keep me up at night.

On my last trip, I was on the Starbucks line and looked up to see a girl looking right at me. I put my head right back to so fast and walked away. I could tell she was startled, even through the mask.

There are definitely stories of marriages that go up in flames (literally, apparently), but it's kind of like the stock market in that you only hear stories about it when it's going down. No one starts a thread on APC about how they reached their 25th wedding anniversary with their one and only wife. Including myself I know numerous pilots who are happily married to wife #1. And while they are in the minority I know several with failed marriages as well. So don't take this thread as the be-all and end-all of marriage stories...

Just had seven weeks off, the most at home in 25 years of marriage. We weren’t sure we’d get along, but all went well and now I’m bidding to be home more.
Just had seven months off and 20 years of marriage. Scheduling? Is that you? Please. Anything? Anything? Syracuse? Rochester? Cleveland? I’ll do anything....I’m now willingly taking calls from telemarketers and having long conversations...😝

Holy crap dude. I thought I had it bad... I hope you took her to the cleaners.

After we returned from .it honeymoon' to show how considerate I was' I offered to cook dinner. I proceeded to burn the bejeezus out of the meat, added about half a pound of salt to the potatoes au gratin, and as it was spring, i collected copious quantities of caterpillars from outside which I added to the salad. The meat, resembling a lump of coal', the potatoes as appetizing as a salt lick and eating like Eull Gibbons eating au natural, would be an apt description of thst first meal.

Needless to say, she never let me cook again

So how was I being considerate? She now feels needed and I always compliment her cooking. People always appreciate being needed and loved😉

I wish.

Duval County Family Court proceedings completely separate from criminal.

DA wouldn't charge her with attempted murder. She literally claimed temporary insanity because she thought I had caught her cheating.

All that was inadmissible in civil court, and FL statues basically state "the put upon spouse must be maintained in the sole to which they were accustomed to"

Fancy term for she's gonna get the house because you moved her away from her hometown because you are an evil military officer who should have tried harder to never leave (city with a training base but no operational units)

Yep, criminal activity is not part of family court. You could have a separate proceeding for that however.

Married, divorced, about to be married or divorced, or single....... Watch the movie “Divorce Corp”. Save yourself time, money, stress, or maybe even going off the deep end by understanding how and why the Justice Industrial Complex operates, and why it does the things it does. It’s not actually out to “screw the guy”. It’s simply a business and guys often get caught in the crossfire of the revenue generation aspect of the business. It’s best to learn and understand what the JIC is and how it functions when you are not in the middle of a proceeding. The emotional toll when involved is so great it’s difficult to think and act objectively in your own best interest and you might not have enough CPU power to process what’s going on if, unaware, you find yourself served papers unexpectedly and uninformed.

You don't truly know someone until you divorce them.

Dude you got it all wrong. You definitely want to speak to that one, see what she’s up to? Coffee, lunch, dinner, whatever else? But you got one thing right......NEVER GET MARRIED. Marriage is a legal sole voiding doctrine, designed by the church and now government to somehow terrify you enough to remain with that same person till you don’t give a crap anymore because you are too damn old now to give a s.~#%. A traditional marriage goes against all our genetically hard wired instincts on both sides of the wedding aisle. With that said...when you find a good one, keep her. Just remember to keep the church and Uncle Sam out of your relationship.
