Anyone have experience/thoughts?

Is Tesla still taking out any upgrades you purchase if you sell the car?

Cross shopped it with a Chevy Volt? The 2nd generation Volt is supposed to be a good car

Depends on what “upgrade” you’re referring to. If someone paid for full self driving or autopilot, it’s with the care for life now.

I *think* if you had an older tesla that included lifetime premium connectivity and sell it, that it downgrades to standard connectivity. Not exactly sure on that though.

Comparing a Tesla Model S to a Taycan is like comparing a Dodge Magnum SRT-8 to a Ferrari FF. They simply aren’t in the same market, which isn’t a diss on either platform.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Maybe compare with the roadster when it finally is released. Would be much closer if not faster.

If you guys want to save money. Take a look at the Mach-E. They have the $7,500 tax credit...

The reviews are coming out and they so far are good.

The Model S and Taycan are worlds closer than Dodge vs Ferrari. Both the Tesla and Porsche are 4 door luxury sedans. Both cars are within an inch of each other for overall length. The Taycan wheelbase is 2 inches shorter and sits 2 inches lower. The Porsche comes with an air of superiority because of the heritage, that is the only meaningful difference.

Where the original poster was WAY OFF in his comparison was using a 2015 Tesla vs a 2021 Porsche. Had the comparison been 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid vs 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S it would have been a different story. The posted comparison was apples to 6 year old apples. Really??

You have a different definition of luxury then. Go sit in any new Tesla and then go sit in any new Porsche and get back to me. Throw in some exterior fit and finish and paint comparisons in while you’re at it. Worlds apart. It’s like someone comparing their Camry to a C-Class.

Compelling car, but lack of AP and a supercharger nationwide network are the current reasons to sway me. In 5 years it will be different, but for now Tesla has the first mover lead and ease of use around the country.
