Problem is our catering team is not experienced. They don't know what they don't know. They truly believed there would be no issues today. Only a few ways they could have been more wrong.

If the delays are in Georgia, you could put whether to go without food to a vote, just for the irony.

Instead we're wasting time and resources updating manuals so that they don't say he/she anymore, taking "ladies and gentlemen" out of announcements, buying thousands of BLM pins, and spending hundreds of man hours on social issue which have nothing to do with our business.
Stop it. Delta knows what they doing. We are cash flow positive while blocking middle seats. AA says they are cashflow positive if you exclude debt payments(Really Dougie Parker.. Really?) And they Bern running full flights for a minute. Moreover, Delta has industry leading Vaccine work rules. Some folks getting 10 days dropped. Even with the headscratcher staffing decisions they are minting cash. When Business travel recovers its going to be a gusher.

Stay home and enjoy your time off or come to work and enjoy the premium pay. Trying to be an airline manager on APC isn't an efficient use of your time.

Really ... bankruptcy is the one trick drinking Dougie knows. Why pay back lenders if you don't have to?

You can't get bonuses for exiting bankruptcy if you don't get into bankruptcy.

Maybe you guys on the 4th floor shouldn’t have put the catering business out of business. Wasn’t it last year that we were doing catering and had been for something like 50+ years?

seems like a lack of leadership situation to me.

So, Bastian wasn't the person who was provisioning the carts and loading them on board, but he is the man responsible for not ensuring the proper roll-out of an event that he had planned for. Consequently, I think a good argument can be made for ultimately pinning this on Bastian. Whaddya think?

Just because you believe in "wokeism" doesn't mean you can't find some fault with your woke brothers when it's appropriate.
I didn’t say I didn’t find fault. I’m not defending them for what’s happening now, obviously lots could have been handled better. My point, which you ignored, was that “wokeism” has nothing to do with it. My point was that it’s a scapegoat way to blame those you don’t agree with. You used it just now.

Right now we suck. The customers know this; they are not happy. The wheel turns and it is going to run over us if we don't get our collective **** together. We are married to this beast, we'll be here for decades. Our management - not so much. It behooves us to raise the hand and tell the emperor he has no clothes.

Very telling we can't seem to figure out how to get catering to a jet. Gee, we were just doing this 8 months ago - whats the mystery?

But hey, at least we got those cool BLM pins to wear. SMDH.
Us vs you, I see where you’re at. You’ve made up your mind and are just going to go after those you don’t agree with as usual.

I thought managements response to Covid was over the top last year too. I think the recovery has been much too slow, I also could see the staffing train wreck coming. I didn’t defend the decisions, I said it’s ridiculous that everything is blamed on being “woke”. Gee,maybe you should try reading something before deciding you disagree.

No, I'm not.

I would just like for us to realize there are various informed opinions out there, and although we may disagree we should acknowledge when sometimes we, or others, read the situation and are right. Not chest thumping here. There were/are posters on here that went pretty hard on us.

Some of us have been in management in other places. We are not stupid or naive. We can see the avalanche starting. This was a case with this evolution.

Sometimes it pays to keep an open mind. I try to do that here. It's difficult sometimes as I think there are many trolls, but you get to learn who the genuine posters are and follow them and engage. Above all be respectful.
