No he’s talking about the current NYC 320Bs who have been awarded a transfer out but haven’t converted yet…

I don’t think CASA actually means lost. They are just referring to the giant void of NYC 320 predicted for the next few months as nearly half the category bid out on the last AE and it’ll probably happen again on the next. So new hires are going to be getting a lot of NYC 320 in the meantime and probably not a lot of other bases.

Poor choice of words on my part. Either way they are gonna have to ramp up NYC 320B. People hired in January are gonna be top 35% if that is any indication of how many new hires they need.

Don’t put all your stock into the widget seniority AE prediction. I’ve seen several people float this 30% number. That thing shows like 370 people on NYC 320 in September, 220 of whom haven’t been hired yet. Current there’s 200. Click on category lists to see what I’m talking about. I’d bank on 50-60% which is still crazy.

So, what are some thoughts on 7ER, 737, and 320? More along the line of schedule, time on reserve, QOL.

They all have their individual quirks, advantages, and disadvantages. I think the two biggest factors influencing each of those will be: First, relative seniority in category and the power that affords to bid for a line versus reserve, and a schedule more to your liking. The fastest and most reliable route to relative seniority is being NYC based, and then either the 320 or 737 because the ER may afford more international as you become senior. Second, how you generally handle the expectation-reality gap. As pilots we generally know how to complain about a variety of things, but you may also recognize individuals that aren’t happy no matter how rosy the reality and then there are those that seem quite happy no matter the disaster.

The majority of trips on NB fleets these days are 3/4 days.

As of late, 3/4 days trips make up about 90% of the trips in the 717 bid packets. I think the company has forgotten that they can build 1 and 2 day trips.
