I don’t think this statement is a threat. It’s desperation and a tacit acknowledgement that they aren’t running this airline the way they should be.

However, 30 seconds of consideration will reveal it to be a totally empty threat.
From what I've heard about 9E, they are "running a little hot". Already.
There is no fleet of RJs parked in the desert just waiting to be put back into service. Unless they are planning on running regional jets on red eyes, there is no slack to be taken up on that side of the house.

Flt Ops Underlings - "we are going to stuff more of our premium pax on RJ's"
Tone deaf. Totally over the rainbow.

the classic kick the can down the road. Stepping over a dime to pick up a penny. In my uneducated line pilot opinion the airline would drastically improve with big changes to the FOP management team. It seems every step they’ve made has just been possibly the worst they could’ve taken. Sick letter threats, PB day “reinterpretation”, negligence or malicious wage “discrepancies”, etc. I just wonder when is the seat too hot for FOP to see new blood to change course. Surely not during contract talks but I can’t imagine this level of incompetence with be tolerated especially with how much it’s costing the company both financially and in brand appearance.

Why can't we just agree that Delta wants to run "hot" and I'll help them out for a premium. I love being able to make a ton of money. They love being able to run an on-time machine, while making a ton of money.
Can't we all just get along?
"We're gonna run it redline."
"Sweet, I'll make it happen for you. And I'm gonna get paid for my trouble."
??? "No."
??? (Grumpy face)

Don't know if this belongs on this thread but I received the interview email with the request for travel information on 4/1. Filled out the form a few days later and then nothing until 4/14 which was just an email saying to continue monitoring my email for a scheduling link to the interview. I know they are full steam ahead with new hires and was just wondering is this normal. Beyond excited and nervous.
