That is correct. They do that so that they can hit the ground running with training should they decide to purchase a new plane.

I hope I understand the meaning of IQ slides correctly, if not please disregard..
Just got off the phone talking to one of our 350 initial cadre.
If his memory serves here is the “IQ slide development” timeline from last time:
1. A350 order announced - Nov 2014
2. First pilots go to the manufacturer training - May 2015
3. They write manuals and DIG and get it all approved by the FAA - May 2015 to Sep 2016
4. Creating the slides
was literally last thing in Oct 2016, just prior to small group trials.
Thats about 700 days from announcement to PowerPoint.
So I’d say making PP slides for IQ of not announced yet new aircraft type makes just about zero sense.
How would you know what to even put on them

Oh boy. Ok so I’m just a messenger okay. I realize that what I’m about to say might sound crazy. So please feel free to slap me in the likely chance that I may be wrong. Ok here it is:
Sometime next week. Perhaps even early. Boeing execs have been creeping around campus all week. Look I apologize in advance if I’m way off. This is just hearsay. Pure unfiltered rumor. I might be totally full of fecal matter. Another APC rumor. There I said it.

There are also 787 jetway lines painted at our gates in Vegas......😳😂. That and IQ slides are proof. 😉
