Anywhere from next day to a week for my group.

Delta invite

Got the invitation to complete the online assessment for Delta and I have a couple questions if y'all can confirm/deny...
1. CUT-E will help with practice (great run down by flymeaway). Is RST significantly better/different because there seems to be a very significant price difference?
2. The email says you have 7 days to complete it. Does that mean once you begin the assessment, or 7 days to take it from when you get the email?
3. Coming from a military then -135 background...those with similar backgrounds, was there anything that surprised you or you wish you had known/done differently to prepare?

Many thanks!

1. If you're only looking for cog test prep CUT-E will suffice. RST goes beyond cog test with webinar sessions for interview prep, access to ride reports and access to the various RST Facebook groups to connect with fellow applicants. The best prep I got for the cog test was actually going through the final stage of American Airlines' application as it was almost the same.
2. You have 7 days to complete it from the moment you get the email with the link. Once you start the test each individual section has time limits. I can't recall if you have to do it all in one sitting but I'd just block off 1h 30m and you'll have plenty of time.

Good stuff. Thanks. Yeah, it all sounded very much like the end of the AA app for the cog.

I did zero prep for the assessment, got an interview invite a few days later (currently waiting for it to be scheduled).

Here is the link for anyone looking. It's cheap, it's effective... Everyone should do it

I got the assessment email Monday. I know I have 7 days from the email but does opening the link start any type of timer. My computer isn’t cutting edge and had trouble with the AA skills test with the arrows. Everything else worked fine. Can I open up the delta test and do the practice and then decide it’s not working and get on a different computer the next day?

The assessment email has a support contact should you encounter any technical
issues. If something crashes on you, email the company that administers the test at the provided email address and they will reset as appropriate. I’d recommend borrowing a computer or tablet if you’re that concerned about it… It’s an important step that you don’t want to botch.

*Of note, there is no arrow test on the Delta assessment (I believe you’re referring to the cars turning down streets portion?)

Instrument Approaches

Can you count simulator instrument approaches under the 6 and 12 month totals on the airline app? I’m in a spot where I can’t fly for several months but I’m still able to sim.
Thanks in advance.

Does the app specifically say not to?

As far as the FAA is concerned, you can used something like the Redbird FMX AATD to maintain instrument currency, so not sure why Delta wouldn't accept them.
