I had someone in my interview group that was there on his second round and got a CJO. Try not to sweat it too much.

Any idea what went wrong? Sorry to hear

I have a few ideas:

I was very nervous to be finally staring my dream job in the face and I think it showed.

I had two errors on my app. I can't believe it with how many times I scrubbed that thing and having used an app review service.

I'm an 18 yr Mil guy, flying for 15, but with relatively low TT, 2200 TT, 800 TPIC.

I prepped my a** off and may have come across too canned.

I may have come across fake on the hypotheticals by falling into the trap of going down the path I thought they wanted to hear vs how I would react in the real world.

I think I'm a humble guy but here I find myself in this uncomfortable situation where I'm supposed to be "selling" myself and I'm wondering if maybe I came off as arrogant.

I had some time at Endeavor but not much and I don't think I explained why it was such a small amount of time very well.

Really hoping I can get a chance clean this stuff up in 6 months.

I hear ya. It’s hard for me to talk about (sell) myself. I tend to let my actions speak for myself. It sounds like these can all be cleaned up next time around. Thank you for sharing!

Sucks!

What were the errors on your app?

Without seeing the details I can not say absolutely that this is your issue, but I wanted to also pass along for people in a similar circumstance. If you have low hours, and particularly if you are low on recent hours. Go get some. Lack of currency and more accurately, lack of instrument proficiency is a warning on an app and interview. 121 training is not the time to get an instrument scan back. If you’ve been doing little flying going out and doing it, log it of course, will really show that you are serious and takes that bit of liability fear from the interviewers.

Again not directed at you specifically but it can be a reason to be hesitant from the interviewers standpoint.

Best of luck in 6 months and have everyone you trust , not just pilots go through your app looking as an editor.

If he got the invite, hours was absolutely not an issue. They don’t give interviews to people they don’t already want to hire. However, a defensive/nervous reaction may have contributed to not passing the HR interview.

Best of luck in 6 months. You’ll be much better prepared next time for the experience.

Concur with the wisdom that they’ve hired you on paper if you get an interview invite, but you can invalidate that in person. Whatever the mistake, you have to own and at least outwardly use it to learn and improve.

A very good friend of mine got the 6 month answer and it was because they asked him about his speeding tickets. He had a pathological inability to accept that it’s a bad thing for him to get regular autograph requests from the highway patrol. He managed to own up and say something about working to improve when he returned 6 months later (with no new tickets during that period), and he was hired.

So I took the assessment test on Sept 26. Does anyone know what the current wait time is to hear back from Delta or should I try and contact someone. Thanks for the help.

recruiting says to reach out to them if you don’t hear back within 7 days….I’d make a phone call.
