Upgrade Times

Can anyone advise what the current upgrade time is at Delta? Thanks.

depends on the base/fleet. But 10 months to 20 years.

I searched but couldn't find anything specific regarding fleet types, bases, upgrades. There's no dedicated thread and I am too new to start one.

1. Are any new hires going onto WB's?

2. Would anyone care to share NB fleets by base?

3. Are folks upgrading primarily on the 717 and 220? In the current climate, how likely would an upgrade be on the '73 or 320 for someone getting hired this year?

4. How are bases and equipment assigned for new hires?

Sorry for all the questions, I just couldn't find the answers in the thousands of threads... Thanks!

literally all of your questions can be answered if you just take a moment to read through some of this thread, and the “new hire class drops“ thread.

Literally, your answer would mean exactly the same thing if you left out the word "literally". But it would be less snotty. Thanks.

What potato said.

It’s a lot, so I encourage you to go read those threads. No offense, but you didn’t look very hard since the new hire thread’s latest post had the last class’ drop. It also been talked about numerous times on multiple threads on how we assign bases and fleets.

1. Yes, in NYC and ATL

2. 737 everywhere, 320 almost everywhere, 220 only NYC, SEA, SLC, 717 only ATL and DTW

3. No, in fact the junior captain was to the 737 if I remember right

4. Last 4 of your SSN. Highest to lowest 4 digit number (9999 picks first, 0001 last)

Many thanks, Wolf424. I did just find that latest class drop. I've been reading pages and pages of info, but felt that information even 2-3 months ago is now stale. Anyway, thanks again for the helpful reply.

Correction, it was NYC only, and I highly doubt we will ever see it again.

Ask again in a week. Seriously. There is a vacancy bid that literally closes in the morning, with results in 2-5 days. That bid will give a much better indication of what to reasonably expect as we fully recover from some Covid craziness. Even then, I suspect there will be some outliers.

New hires are holding 765 in NYC but not in ATL. Still a couple of years as of this moment. An AE is closing tomorrow that may show very junior WB FO's but nobody has been offered a WB ATL out of Indoc.
