LORs are submitted via airlineapps. There is no requirement to bring any with you.

I would get LOR from your previous places of work. That would paint your professional picture, not just from people that work for Delta.

Also one from a current colleague that can talk about who you are at work.

There was someone in my interview group that brought extra paper work that he thought Delta would want and did not ask for. Like a printed resume and some other documents. They did not accept it and made him put it away in his luggage before the day started. Bring what they ask you to bring.

100% this. Bring exactly what they tell you to bring and have it organized so the paperwork shuffle is low stress. Technique - use an accordion folder with labeled tabs based on the email they send with required documents. It made that morning very easy. Otherwise it could be a stressful moment.

Is it worth me applying this year with the increase in hiring? I might end up looking like a dummy posting this as I could be extremely unqualified, but if I’ve learned anything it’s that things change with the blink of an eye.

I currently am sitting short of 1000hrs jet at my regional (not a delta regional. WO west coast regional) I’m flying my tail off because the flying has been good recently. I’m hoping to get within a couple hundred of the the 1000hr limit this year.
I have zero internal LORs but a few company recs and previous aviation experience LORs (both flying and not flying).

I am the first person in my family to fly, so I can’t use daddies buddies to write me a LOR. All civilian, CFI route, not a riddle grad or any major school. I have plenty of multi PIC from instructing.

I think I am gonna be pretty short handed for a few years while I build more experience. Debating if now is worth it to spend some money for resume and application review or if I should just wait. I enjoy my current company but am hoping to move to Delta for the rest of my career at some point. I am younger than 25 years old.

What exactly do you lose by applying besides a few hundred bucks on an app review? I published my app as soon as I met the bare minimums listed on the application.

Get your app together ASAP.

Have it professionally reviewed.

Publish it.

Update it every 30-60 days.

Agree with the above 2 comments, you can't get the call if you don't have the app in. I'll add that the competitive minimums have reportedly gone up dramatically from a couple years ago during the hiring frenzy. You probably already know that, so not trying to be a downer, just make sure you have reasonable expectations once you meet the published minimums. Also, don't be afraid to reach out to anyone you know, even if only casually, for a LOR. I found 100% of folks I asked were truly happy to write a solid rec. Best of luck!
